CD 3…. Round 3

Today is CD 3…. Of my third fertility treatment cycle. If I do get pregnant this cycle (please, please, PLEASE!) this would be my third pregnancy.

I’m starting 100 mg of Clomid tonight (up from 50 mg the previous two cycles).

I hope the third time is the charm.

The Timeline

December 2004 – Begin dating the love of my life December 2006 – Engaged May 2008 – Married! September 2008 – Goodbye Nuva Ring! “If it happens, it happens!” June 2009 – Let’s make a baby for real. December 2009 – Know something is definitely wrong. See OB-GYN - She says, “Keep trying! You are young and fertile! March 2010 – Finally give in and meet with an RE March 2010 – Surprise BFP a few days after initial consultation with the RE! April 2010 – Miscarriage at 6 ½ weeks May 2010-July 2010 – Trying on our own. “It happened once, it’s got to happen again! Right?” August 2010 – Back to the RE for testing. HSG all clear. S/A is completely normal. September 2010 – Follow up appointment with RE after testing – Diagnosis – Poly-cystic ovaries. Blood work shows hormone levels are normal. October/November 2010 – Timed Intercourse Cycle #1: Metformin (1500 mg), Clomid (50 mg), Ovidrel, Prometrium… 1 mature follicle at 18.5 mm on CD 14… Ovidrel trigger. – BFP – 14 DPO – Beta #1 – 27 …. Chemical Pregnancy. December 2010 – Full RPL panel. Diagnosed with MTHFR – Two ‘C’ copies – Normal Homocysteine levels. RE prescribes a daily Baby aspirin and Neevo (a prenatal with higher dosages of L-methylfolate). December 2010 – Timed Intercourse Cycle #2: Metformin (1500 mg), Clomid (50 mg), Ovidrel, Prometrium. Late response - 1 mature follicle at 20.1 mm on CD 21… Ovidrel trigger. – BFN. January 2011 – Timed Intercourse Cycle #3: Metformin (1500 mg), Clomid (100 mg), Ovidrel, Prometrium. 1 mature follicle at 20 mm on CD 12… Ovidrel trigger. – BFN. February 2011 – Approved for “Shared Risk” IVF Program March/April 2011 – IVF Cycle #1 -3/2/11 – Begin Birth Control Pills -3/8/11 – Mock Embryo Transfer -3/24/11 – Stims begin! Follistim/Menopur -4/6/11 - TRIGGER! -4/8/11 - Egg Retrieval
